Questions
Is GeoPedal free?
Yes. At launch there is nothing to buy. XP, crates and power-ups are all earned by riding.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone first, through TestFlight while we test. Android comes after the iPhone launch.
Do I need a bike computer or sensors?
No. GeoPedal uses your phone's GPS and keeps recording with the screen locked.
Does every ride need to be a loop?
To claim land, yes. Finish within about 100 m of where you started. Rides that don't close still count toward your ride log.
Can people see where I live?
Other riders see the land you claimed. They don't see the route you rode, your ride history, or anywhere you went outside a ride. Claimed territory is on the map for other riders, so if there's ground you'd rather not have on the map, don't claim it. The privacy policy has the detail.
What stops people from driving?
Rides with sustained car speeds are disqualified, GPS jumps are filtered, and mock locations are flagged.
How do I sign in?
Sign in with Apple. You'll pick a handle and a territory color the first time you open the app. Riders must be 13 or older.
What happens at the end of a season?
Standings lock, the map resets, and the next three-month season starts.
